It’s been announced that Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to make a movie out of jumpscare-filled horror game Five Nights At Freddy’s.  Excuse me while I go to the theater with a blanket to half-hide my eyes behind in anticipation of said inevitable jumpscares.

If you’re not familiar with Five Nights at Freddy’s, just go to Youtube and type it in.  You’ll be bombarded with let’s play videos featuring the game in its entirety, night by night.  You’re a night guard in a creepy version of a Chuck-E-Cheese like party venue for kids (and later a closed down version of it turned into a haunted house style attraction).  The goal is to survive 5 nights while murderous, haunted animatronics are roaming the building prepared to forcefully shove you into an animatronic suit.

The movie will be produced by Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, and Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions.  Grahame-Smith has been quoted as saying, “We’re looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie.”  I’m not sure where they’re going to get the adorable in there anyway, but I suppose Balloon Boy could be cute if he really REALLY tried hard?

The team chosen to handle this is currently working on a movie for the Stephen King novel “IT” and two of the trio are working on a Beetlejuice sequel, so it seems like they’re really a dream team to adapt Scott Cawthon’s hugely popular game series into a video.

Just do us a favor guys and settle this big nerd-rage filled debate in the movie, okay:  Who officially is the purple guy?
